Ministry of Energy – EGAT delivers school uniforms No. 5 ‘Energy saving, comfortable to wear, no need to iron’

Kanchanaburi, The Ministry of Energy, together with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), delivered No. 5 school uniforms to the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation to honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary and promote household energy conservation. Ministry of Energy, Kanchanaburi Province and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) jointly delivered student uniform number 5 under the project to support student uniform number 5 in honor of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 60th Birthday Anniversary to schools in the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the royal patronage at Rajaprajanugroh School 45, Phanom Thuan District, Kanchanaburi Province to promote household energy saving and reduce costs for parents. The ceremony was presided over by Admiral Phongsak Nuthep, Privy Councilor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation, together with Mr. Thepparat Theppi tak, EGAT Governor, Mr. Komon Buaket, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Athisak Intra, Deputy Governor of Kanchanaburi Province, executives, and representatives of Rajaprajanugroh School. Supporting No. 5 student uniforms to Rajaprachanukroh Schools is one of the 10 projects organized by the Ministry of Energy and EGAT to celebrate His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024 under the name '10 Projects Continuing the Royal Initiatives' by supporting 32,000 No. 5 student uniforms to 75 Rajaprachanukroh Schools. No. 5 student uniforms have the features of 'energy saving, comfortable to wear, no need to iron', soft and comfortable fabric, hard to wrinkle, no need to iron after washing, save time, reduce costs, and the dye used to dye the fabric is safe from carcinogens and heavy metals, does not fade easily, is resistant to sunlight and sweat, making it have a long service life, helps conserve the environment, saves ele ctricity costs by approximately 5 million baht/year, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 540 tons/year. Throughout the project, 72,000 No. 5 student uniforms will be supported to 217 target schools nationwide. It helps save electricity costs of approximately 11 million baht/year and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 1,216 tons/year. Student uniform number 5 is one of the number 5 products under the operation of EGAT in managing the use of electricity continuously since 1995 by using the 3 O strategy: O. electricity-saving equipment O. electricity-saving buildings and O. electricity-saving habits to encourage people in every household to change to using electrical equipment and number 5 products that are highly efficient, resulting in the use of electricity in a valuable and efficient way, helping to save on electricity bills in another way.
