Being an educator is a noble and challenging task. Teachers are responsible to educate the children as they enter formal education at the age of 5. Last night's News at Ten brought the challenges and experiences of two preschool teachers in the Belait District and Tutong District.
Teaching at Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Haji Mohammad Yusof Primary School in Seria, Awang Shamsul Rizal bin Haji Salleh, has been a preschool teacher for 13 years. He added teaching pupils aged 5 and 6 is a blessing to him as not everyone can carry such noble task.
The same experience was also shared by another teacher at Benutan Primary School in Tutong District, Dayang Nor Raidah Ummi Misali binti Abdullah Yusof with 32 years of experience in the field of education.
Although there are many challenges that need to be overcome, these courageous teachers continue to educate the pupils with passion. Their determination and sacrifices are in line with the theme of this year's Teachers' Day Celebration, 'Quality Teachers, Drivers of Education Transformation.'
