The Ministry of Health informed the public that one COVID-19 confirmed case has returned to the grace and mercy of Allah. The Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al ‘Afiah, Ministry of Health. According to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the case died due to a heart attack and the death is not related to COVID-19. Also joining the media conference was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Yang Berhormat shared that the late patient was Case 849 in Brunei Darussalam. Allahyarham was admitted to the intensive care unit at the relevant Centre on the evening of the 19th of August 2021 due to a heart attack and is not categorised as death due to COVID-19. In order to protect and respect the privacy as well as confidentiality of Allahyarham’s family, the Ministry of Health will not share the personal details of the deceased. Members of the public are also requested to respect and not disseminate information relating to Allahyarham. The Minister representing the Ministry of Health as well as the people of Brunei Darussalam also expressed deepest condolences to Allahyarham’s family and pray that his soul will receive blessings from Allah the Almighty and that he is placed among the pious.
