$100 Compound for Individuals Violating the Directives

Following the media statement of the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy on the 1st of October 2021, as per the provisions of Section 62A of the Infectious Diseases Act Chapter 204, starting on the 4th of October 2021 until Sunday the 17th of October 2021, the public is required to be at their respective residences every night from 8 in the evening until 4 in the morning.

However exceptions are only given for emergency and urgent matters or those who work as critical frontline workers only which includes shift workers. Anyone who is found in violation of the directive without reasonable excuse may be subject to a compound fine of one hundred dollar per person for each offense. The public are urged to comply with all directives issued to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by staying at home and not to leave the house without any important purpose. All citizens and residents are urged to work together in helping the Government of His Majesty to restore the state of the nation from COVID-19, for the good and well-being of all.
