106 New Cases, 3 New Clusters Detected

106 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed yesterday, taking the total cases to 8,150. There are 41 additional new cases to 10 of the existing active clusters today who were previously close contacts with several positive cases.

3 new clusters have been detected, all are private home clusters that involved 9 cases. Meanwhile, one cluster was closed following no new detected cases in the cluster for 28 days namely the Champion 7 – Posh Elegance Cluster. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 146 clusters.

2 import cases were recorded yesterday. 1 case arrived from Manila on board Royal Brunei flight BI 684 on the 29th of September 2021; and 1 case arrived from Morocco via Malaysia on board Royal Brunei flight BI 874 on the 22nd of September 2021. 54 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection. Meanwhile, 140 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 5,774.

There are 2,315 active cases, with 5 cases in Category 5 currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with 2 cases requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. Furthermore, 36 cases in Category 4 are under close monitoring.
