4 COVID-19 cases are in Category 4, requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring, while 1 case is in Category 5. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.
Of the Category 4 cases, 2 are new where one of the patients has already received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while another case has received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The Category 5 case is a 38-year old male who has multiple health conditions and has received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. 1,477 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours of which all are local cases, taking the total cases to 23,992. This is the result of 5,167 laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. 178 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing the total recovered cases to 17,414 cases, with 6,476 cases remain active.
