His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam conferred Brunei Darussalam State Decorations to 151 recipients. The conferment of the Brunei Darussalam State Decorations was in conjunction with His Majesty's 73rd birthday celebration. The ceremony took place at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman, yesterday afternoon.
In attendance were His Majesty's sons and brother, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.
The ceremony began with the conferment of the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia, Darjah Ketiga or The Most Honourable Order Of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei, 3rd Class, S.M.B. to 25 recipients. Recipients comprise of officers from the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The conferment of the State Decorations reflects His Majesty's appreciation towards the contributions and services of every recipient in various fields of national development.
7 people received the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar, Darjah Keempat, or The Most Eminent Order Of Islam Brunei, 4th Class, S.U.B. The recipients comprise officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The conferment of the Brunei Darussalam State Decorations certainly gives motivation to the recipients to continue to give excellence in service.
His Majesty then conferred the Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia, Darjah keempat, or The Most Blessed Order Of Setia Negara Brunei, 4th Class, P.S.B. to 105 people. Among the recipients were Her Excellency Dayang Hajah Kasmalati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Mohd Kassim, Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the Association of South East Asian Nations, ASEAN, in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia; Yang Berhormat Dayang Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Awang Haji Abdul Rahman; and Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii, members of the Legislative Council. The state decoration recipients comprise officers from the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Defence Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports as well as from the private sector. The conferment of the state decorations acts as a motivation for the officers and staff of the government and private sector to continue giving their loyal service to the nation.
His Majesty then conferred the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar, Darjah Kelima or The Most Eminent Order Of Islam Brunei, 5th Class, P.U.B. to 14 recipients. They comprise of officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Legiislative Council, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Pedalaman, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Departments.
