16 Compound Fines Were Issued and Provide Information on the Location of Staff Houses

The Minister of Health also touched on compound fines issued after failing to comply with the ‘Operasi Pulih’ last night.

Meanwhile, the multi-agencies enforcement monitoring carried out last night during the out-of house restriction directive from 8 in the evening until 4 this morning, saw a total of 16 violations of the directive nationwide issued with compound fines, where 10 of them are violations of the out of-house restriction. Meanwhile recently, there has been an increase in positive cases among workers living in one accommodation, resulting in new clusters involving a high number of cases.

Therefore, the Government in its efforts to identify the staff houses or dormitories that have a risk of COVID-19 transmission, has set up eight telephone lines to allow the public to provide information on the location of the staff houses or dormitories to the relevant authority. The information provided can be conveyed either via telephone or WhatsApp together with the pictures and its location. This service is jointly operated by the Department of Labour and the Department of Immigration and National Registration, whereas the information obtained by the public will assist the relevant authorities to conduct health and the surrounding condition assessment, in addition to ensure the workers have received their COVID-19 vaccinations.
