1,666 New Cases, 5,274 Cases Recovered

22 COVID-19 cases are in Category 4, 5 cases are in Category 5, while one case has passed away. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated the matter at a Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Joining the media conference was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education.

 

1,666 new cases were reported, taking total cases to 120,600. Of the new cases, 1,430 were from ART results uploaded to the Ministry of Health’s portal, while 236 were from 2,278 PCR lab tests. In the meantime, 5,274 cases have recovered, bringing total recovered cases to 100,048 with 20,375 cases remaining active. At present, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 6 percent whereby 214 active cases are placed in isolation centres and hospitals and 20,161 positive cases are on home self-isolation. Up to 16th March 2022, 59.2 percent of the total rate of population have received three doses of the vaccine, while for those who have received one and 2 doses is more than 94 percent respectively.
