17th Principals Meeting ASEAN-PAC

Collaborations and strengthening cooperation among anti-corruption agencies of the ASEAN-PAC need to be enhanced to prevent and combat corruption. The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office made the call in his keynote speech via video recording during the 17th Principals Meeting ASEAN Parties Against Corruption, ASEAN-PAC held at the Anti-Corruption Bureau Headquarters.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud also acknowledged the efforts made by the ASEAN-PAC in showing commitment towards building a better governance and more resilient in the fight against corruption despite the pandemic.

The meeting was chaired by Datin Paduka Dayang Hajah Suhana binti Haji Sudin, Director of Anti-Corruption Bureau. Dayang Hajah Suhana in her speech also expressed the desire to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on anti-corruption efforts by assessing the experiences of foreign countries in the development, implementation and effectiveness of anti-corruption strategies.

The meeting also reviewed and adopted the draft Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for Preventing and Combating Corruption. The meeting also reviewed the ASEAN-PAC Terms of References and Action Plan on the way forward and strategic direction in achieving and supporting the establishment and objectives of the ASEAN-PAC.
