The Rites of Sacrifice continue to be held by various parties. Such a practise provides lessons and benefits to individuals and the community.
26 people comprising 10 of the Zakat Asnaf and 16 orphans from Kampung Pelambayan and Kampung Datu Gandi received the sacrificial meats. The distribution of meat was carried out by Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Two buffaloes were sacrificed this year.
The Qurban ceremony for new converts, poor and destitute in the Brunei Muara district was also held yesterday afternoon. Three buffaloes were sacrificed and distributed to 100 recipients. In-attendance was Awang Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri, Acting Director for Administration at the Administration Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Meanwhile, 5 buffaloes were sacrificed at a Qurban Ceremony for Kampung Belimbing. The event organised by the Village Consultative Council was officiated by Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, the Adviser for Kampung Belimbing Consultative Council. The meat was distributed to 16 poor and destitute as well as 8 orphans.
A similar ceremony was also organised by the Tutong District New Converts Association, PESATU. One buffalo was sacrificed at the ceremony. The sacrificial meats was distributed by Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Awang Haji Othman bin Uking, Adviser of PESATU to the participants, committee and its members.
