Twenty successful young entrepreneurs from a number of government agencies were invited to develop and advance local industries. Besides the exhibition, there was also an entrepreneur’s dialogue that gathered academics and young entrepreneurs in discussions on the development of human and natural resources. The exhibition includes a competition, called “Business Plan Competition” among several government and non-government centres of higher learning.
The objective of the exhibition is to become the platform that brings together youth entrepreneurs and create a network towards achieving the true meaning of Brunei Vision 2045. The exhibition is open until tomorrow from 2pm to 5.30pm at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.
His Majesty’s government places great attention on efforts to develop the country’s youths by providing continuous capacity building programmes, infrastructure facilities as well as physical and financial assistance. Youth’s involvement in the economy is nothing new. The development in ICT has opened many opportunities and much space for youths to venture into the economic arena.
Today youths are no longer afraid to go into the business world by making social media their main platforms to promote businesses. This suits the old saying, ‘bekarih’, ‘bejarih’ ‘belurih’ or “be willing, hardworking, achieve”. Youths should possess this spirit so that they would become active in any field and willing to face any challenge that came along.
The youths reflect the future shape of the nation. They are what the country needs and are important assets and the pillar of strength of any nation. Hence, the young generation needs to be properly groomed, educated and guided so that they become a learned, faithful, dedicated, pious and moral generation who follow the teachings of Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. His Majesty’s government has devised many programmes to help youths in entrepreneurship.
Several youths talked about their venture into entrepreneurship and training. They thanked the government for the assistance given to them.
