210 New Cases, 7 New Clusters Detected

210 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, taking the total cases to 7,326.

There are 49 additional new cases to 17 existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. 7 new clusters have been detected, bringing the total number of active clusters to 125 clusters. The clusters are 7110 Cluster that contains 21 cases; 6602 Cluster with 3 cases; 6597 Cluster with 4 cases; 7068 Cluster that has 8 cases; 6839 Cluster with 8 cases; Pasar Gadong Cluster containing 2 cases; and 4 cases have been detected following the mass swabbing operation conducted at Bukit Beruang area on the 29th of September 2021.

168 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 5,043 cases, whereas the total number active cases are 2,233 cases. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, 7 are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requiring the help of an additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 30 cases in Category 4 are under close monitoring.

On the 30th September 2021 until yesterday morning, the National Isolation Centre has recorded two newborn births by 2 positive COVID-19 cases. All the mothers and their newborns are in good condition. In the past 24 hours, 5,271 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 361,082.
