22 New Cases, 55 Cases Recovered

22 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the country, bringing the total cases to 15,186. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al’Afiah, Ministry of Health.

There are 10 additional new cases to 5 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. No new cluster was detected, and 7 clusters have been closed following no new detected cases for 28 days. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 111 clusters.

2 import cases were reported, both arrived in the country on the 29th of November 2021. 1 case arrived from Jakarta on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ 148 and the other case from Manila on board Royal Brunei flight BI 686. 10 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

55 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 14,773 cases, whereas the total active cases are 313. 1 case is in Category 5 who is currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit and requires assistance of artificial ventilation and an additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 1 case is in Category 4 who requires oxygen assistance and is under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 4,807 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 638,521 tests.
