229 New Cases, 2 New Clusters Detected, 277 Cases Recovered

229 new COVID-19 cases infections have been confirmed, taking the total cases to 11,901. There are 53 additional new cases to 14 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. 2 new clusters have been detected that involved 13 cases which are accommodation clusters, and 5 clusters have been closed following no new detected cases in the clusters for 28 days. The clusters are Fos Thor Vessel Cluster; 3774; 3965; 5390; and 5499. Therefore, the total active clusters are 167 clusters. In addition, 1 import case arrived from Manila via Singapore on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ 146 on the 10th of October 2021.

162 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection. 277 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing the total recovered cases to 9,368 cases, whereas the total active cases are 2,452. 6 cases are in Category 5 and currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation, with 3 cases requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 18 cases in Category 4 require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 3,529 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 468 thousand 587 tests.
