2,660 Emergency Calls Recorded

2,660 emergency calls recorded from January to June this year, received by the Fire and Rescue Department nationwide. From the number, the Fire and Rescue Department has received 1,948 calls only in the Brunei Muara District.

Statistics also show that the call category consists of 168 calls for house, building, car and electrical fires. Meanwhile, the most calls received which are 2,123, were calls for incidents of locked rooms and cars, Gas Leaks investigations, Incidents of Disturbance and Wild Animal Rescue, Landslides, Road Accidents and Victim Rescue. Calls were also received for Assistance in Lowering or Picking Up Victims, Assistance in cleaning up post-traffic accidents which was 155 calls as well as Forest and Grass Fires complaint which were 214 calls received.

While, the overall structure fire statistics for the same month, the Department has recorded 24 building fire cases and 55 house fire cases. From the total, a total loss of more than $3,061,000 dollars was recorded.
