A total of 100 paintings by 50 women artists are on display during the Second All Women Artist Arts Exhibition: Art to Heart. The exhibition was launched today at the Art Gallery, Bandar Seri Begawan Royal Wharf in the capital.
It was officiated by Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AminuddinIhsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya SaifulMulokDato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The exhibition is held as a continuation from the '1st All Women Artist Arts Exhibition: Sensation, windows to her world' in 2017. In line with the objective of promoting women artists in the country, this year's exhibition received an increasing number of women participants. Also present was DatinPaduka Doctor HajahNorlelabintiDatoPaduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. All the paintings are for sale and 20% of the sale will be donated to the PengiranMudaMahkota Al-MuhtadeeBillah Fund for Orphans, DANA.
Apart from showcasing paintings by women artists, the exhibition also display the creativity of an autistic male artist. Awang Hafiz Hamizan,Year 8 (Pre-Voc) student at Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School is also selling shirts which carry the motifs of his paintings. The exhibition is organised by YayasanSeniZakaria Omar in collaboration with HAWA Group (All Women Artist Group). The group also showcases their products such as postcards, painting, handicraft, henna painting service and portrait. The exhibition, also supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is open to the public from 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. It will be held until the 14th of April.
