Brunei Darussalam showcased its prowess in the 30th Southeast Asian Games' polo event as they secured the second gold medal for the country after toppling Malaysia in the Final which took place at the Miguel Romero Polo Field, Calatagan, Batangas, yesterday morning. The victory became a national pride and has been rooted in the history of sports for the country. In attendance to watch the final were His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah. Joining the national polo team was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien.
Also present was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council.
In the Division 'B' Final saw the national polo team in yellow beat Malaysia by 7 - 4 in 4 chakas.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah then presented the gold medal to the Brunei Darussalam team. Silver went to Malaysia, While Philippines and Indonesia took bronze.
