The Minister of Health also shared that since the Early Endemic Phase began on the 15th of December 2021, 315 cases have been detected in Brunei Darussalam.
Among the cases, 114 are imported cases. Meanwhile, from the 22nd of November 2021 to 10 January 2022, gene sequencing method was performed on 460 samples from positive cases detected in Brunei Darussalam in which 441 of them were found to be of the Delta variant while 19 samples were confirmed as the Omicron variant. It means that there are an additional 10 Omicron cases reported in the country. Currently all the Omicron variant cases detected are imported cases while the Delta variant cases comprises local and foreign cases.
