More than 30 projects are identified to be implemented for the development of Temburong District. The Authority of Temburong District Development is reviewing the development plans of Temburong District which has been prepared to make the district as a world standard eco-district. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi Bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development explained the matter in a response to a query raised by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu on the efforts to develop the green jewel district when the Temburong District bridge project is fully completed.
Temburong District plan has identified 32 relevant projects. Some of the projects are planned to be carried out by relevant government agencies covering economy, agriculture, education, tourism and housing projects. The Department of Town and Country Planning has provided 2 planning schemes for 2 main growth centres namely the Main Central Road for Bangar Town and Labu, as well as identifying a number of areas to generate economic opportunity, provision of housing area and social facilities such as new business centres to increase the number of tourists and visitors into the town. Among the specialities in developing Temburong District is the Temburong Bridge, the longest bridge on South East Asia that can attract tourist to visit Temburong District aside from making it an access and connection to the whole of Brunei Darussalam.
