368 New Cases, 23 Cases Recovered

368 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total cases to 18,152. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health informed the new cases at a Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation in Brunei Darussalam. The media conference which took place at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health was joined by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, one case is in Category 4, requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring at the Intensive Care Unit. 23 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 16,178 cases and the total active cases are 1,872 cases. Meanwhile, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 26.3 percent. The Minister of Health also shared on the accomplishments of the National Vaccination Programme until the 6th of February 2022. The overall rate of the population who have received at least one dose of the vaccine is 94.9 percent, 94 percent have received 2 doses, and 42.4 percent have received 3 doses.
