38th National Day Celebration Kesyukuran Ceremony

Brunei Darussalam’s 38th National Day celebration began with the Kesyukuran Ceremony, mass Fardu Maghrib and Isya’ prayers, the reading of Surah Yasin as well as Doa Kesyukuran at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined his subjects in performing the mass Fardu Maghrib and Isya’ prayers as well as reading of Surah Yasin and Doa Kesyukuran at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports as Chairman of the Celebration’s Executive Committee, and Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

Also in attendance were His Majesty’s sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

The mass Fadhu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim also led the mass Sunat Hajat prayer.

Meanwhile, the reading of Surah Yasin was headed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

Doa Kesyukuran was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

Meanwhile, the mass Fardu Isya’ prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

Such a ceremony was held to express gratitude towards Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala for the blessings and peace bestowed upon the nation as well as the well-being of the country’s people.
