Information and Communications Technology, ICT has opened up more opportunities for education especially in the form of innovation in teaching and learning. This was highlighted by the Dean of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB's School of Computing and Informatics during the 3rd International Symposium on Innovative Teaching and Learning, ISITL 2017, this afternoon.
During the Symposium entitled "Use of Augmented Reality (AR) In Teaching Secondary Science Student", the Dean of UTB's School of Computing and Informatics also underlined there is also a plethora of learning tools available ranging from managing course wares to designing specific courses in many forms. Doctor Au Thien Wan also focused on an example of designing an Augmented Reality (AR) instructional material for secondary level science students.
Meanwhile, Awang Mohammad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Deputy Dean, School of Computing and Informatics from Universiti of Teknologi Brunei, UTB, in his symposium entitled "Educational Applications Development with Virtual World and Mobile Technology" stressed on the current settings of education, aside from the normal face-to-face lectures includes many channels and paths available to learners and Virtual World is starting to get more attention. The symposium hopes to allow all participants and lecturers concerned to gain new knowledge, reflect and review the effectiveness of their teaching and learning approaches using the mobile platforms.
