The 3rd Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium hosted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF in partnership with British Forces Brunei aims to bring together regional and international expertise to share best practice and expand and enrich their collective knowledge and understanding of Jungle Warfare and its demands. These were highlighted by Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force at the opening ceremony of the Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium. He added, the symposium will discuss on how security forces capabilities may enhance to counter potential treats and challenges with a specific focus of inter-agency collaboration. The opening ceremony took place at the RBAF Defence Academy in Tanah Jambu.
Themed, "What are the ends, ways and means for delivering Joint and Inter Agency effects within the Jungle Environment," the 6-day symposium will be held until the 2nd of July. More than 200 participants from several countries are attending the symposium, including senior officers and personnel from Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces as well as other related government agencies. The symposium discussed ranging topics from potential security trends and threats to collective capacity-building for jungle-orientated operations. The Symposium also serves as a platform to build cooperation in the area of information exchange and to promote future collaborations in training and multilateral exercises between participating countries.
