Brunei Darussalam will be represented by 4 students to the 1st Southeast Asian Ministers Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Science Olympiad, SEASO, 2019 in Penang, Malaysia. The delegation left the country this morning. The four students are Dayang Elmeeza Bazillah binti Abdullah Muhammad Yasrinal Eddy Abdullah, and Dayang Radin Hannah Bazilah binti Radin Safiee, from the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College; and Awang Mohammad Amin bin Haji Mohammad Jazmi, and Dayang Nur Syirin binti Sukarneva, students from the Sayyidina Othman Secondary School.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell was Doctor Dayang Hajah Zurina binti Haji Harun, Acting Director of Schools, Ministry of Education. SEASO is a unique platform to stimulate scientific thinking and knowledge exploration amongst students in secondary school levels by applying knowledge into real-life technological problems-solving skills to address multiple issues including sustainable development. The competition begin tomorrow and participate by 7 countries namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Republic of Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
