44 New Cases, 8 Recovered

44 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday bringing the total number of cases to 15,678. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter during the Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation. The media conference held at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health were also attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

According to the Minister of Health, of the total, 14 were local cases while 30 were import cases. The number of new cases is from 1,428 laboratory tests carried out. Therefore, the rate of positive cases is 3.1 percent. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Center, one case is in Category 4 which requires oxygen assistance and under intensive care. 8 cases has recovered bringing the total recovered cases to 15,364 cases with 212 active cases. Meanwhile, the bed occupancy rate nationwide is 5.2 percent.
