Since the establishment of the Fire and Rescue Department, several developments, reforms and achievements implemented by the Department, especially in the field of duties and responsibilities to maintain public safety and well-being. Speaking at the Parade Ceremony in conjunction with the 62nd Anniversary of Fire and Rescue Department, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs added, public awareness and preparedness programmes on fire have also shown an outcomes. The ceremony took place at the Fire and Rescue Department Headquarters, Berakas.
At the ceremony, the Minister of Home Affairs presented the Model Fire Station Award to the Muara Fire Station and the Community Service Appreciation Award to six recipients. As of March 2022, 17 members of the public have received certificates as Meritorious Communities. The recipients showed a sensitive, responsible attitude that can be used as a good example and useful to the community such as working together, acting quickly to put out the fire before it spreads into a large fire.
