9 new COVID-19 case was confirmed yesterday, taking total cases to 15,372. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon. Joining the media conference at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunication.
The number of new cases is the result of a total of 3,781 laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours. Therefore, the rate of positive case yesterday is 0.2 percent. 1 Category 5 case is being treated at Intensive Care Unit requiring assistance of artificial ventilation. Meanwhile, no deaths associated with COVID-19 have been recorded in the past 24 hours. 19 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 15,046 cases and 226 cases remaining active. Meanwhile, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 5.2 percent.
