925 New Cases, 424 Cases Recovered

4 COVID-19 cases are in Category 4 while 2 cases are in Category 5. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

Of the Category 4 cases, 3 are new whereby both of the cases have completed two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while another case has recently received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The Category 5 cases require the assistance of a ventilation machine and are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. 925 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours of which 924 cases are local with 1 import case, taking total cases to 25,584.

This is the result of 5,336 laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. 424 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing total recovered cases to 17,970, with 7,512 cases remaining active. In the past 7 days, the National Coordination Centre for COVID-19, N3C19, together with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Youth Volunteers have made food deliveries to 2,425 homes for 10,535 individuals, whether positive cases undergoing isolation at home or primary close contacts undergoing a Quarantine Order.

At present, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 15.4 percent whereby 364 active cases are placed in isolation centres and 7,147 cases are undergoing home self-isolation. Meanwhile, there are 109 active clusters currently under the Ministry of Health’s monitoring, of which no clusters involving businesses or public places is detected yesterday.
