9th AMMDM and 10th COP to AADMER

Brunei Darussalam persevere through a Whole-of Nation approach since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, especially on the role of the National Disaster Management Centre, NDMC in disaster preparedness programmes. This includes the School Based Disaster Risk Management, Community Based Disaster Risk Management as well as Youth Preparedness and Response Team. This was shared by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs at the 9th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management and the 10th Conference of the Parties to AADMER. The virtual meeting was chaired by the Republic of Singapore.

With the theme ‘Strengthening Partnership and Innovation for Disaster Management in ASEAN’, the meeting discussed on ways to further the strengthen joint ASEAN response to any disaster, and evaluate the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response, AADMER towards realising the goal to build a safe and disaster-resilient society.
