A building at Kampung Telanai, near the capital, was gutted in a fire yesterday afternoon. No casualty and injuries were reported while the cause of the blaze was still under investigation.
The Fire and Rescue Department received emergency call at 1.05 in the afternoon. Four fire engines from the Bandar Seri Begawan, Beribi and Berakas branches were rushed to the scene. Fire and Rescue personnel managed to control the blaze in 22 minutes. The Fire and Rescue Department, in the meantime, advised the public not to use excessive electrical appliances and to ensure the house is provided with safety equipment such as fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke detector.
