Unemployment, investments in the industrial, oil and gas sectors, the Pulau Muara Besar Oil Refinery Plant as well as the development of iReady were among the issues that gained attention in the first meeting of the 15th Legislative Council session which entered its 10th day yesterday. Developments in the oil and gas as well as industrial sector outlined in the direction of the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry's allocation will provide employment opportunities to locals and at the same time reduce the rate of unemployment. The morning session focused on several questions that have been given notice which among other matters are related to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Development. Touching on the disposal of materials containing quranic verses, the Minister of Religious Affairs stated that the ministry has a special machine specifically used to dispose materials containing quranic verses and pages of books including mushab or quran that are old which can no longer be read or used. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs explained this in answering the question voiced by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said that currently the special machine used by the ministry is located at the Sungai Besar Mosque in the Brunei-Muara District. The incinerator is handled by the Administration Department's Disposal Section. Those requiring such services especially those from the other districts can contact the ministry through the relevant department.
