Age-Friendly Community Initiative Consultation Session Held in Tutong District

Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam is on track to become an aging nation within the next 13 years. To address the impending demographic shift, concerted efforts are underway to maintain community well-being, particularly through initiatives like the 'Age-Friendly Community Initiative'. Tutong District has been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an ideal location for implementing this initiative, which led to a consultation session being held at the Official Residence of the Tutong District Officer on the morning of April 9th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the session saw the participation of key figures including Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya'akub, Member of the Legislative Council, and Awangku Arif Anuar bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Assistant Tutong District Officer. The event was attended by representatives from government agencies, private entities, local leaders such as penghulu and village heads, as well as senior citizens from the district. The Ministry of Health, through the Health Promotion Centre, organized the session in collaboration with WHO and various other agencies and stakeholders.
