The Quran Learning Programme at Secondary Schools and Government and Private Colleges was held simultaneously yesterday MORNING in all government and private secondary schools nationwide. Held starting in 2020 for Years 9, 10 and 11 students, the programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The permanent syllabus for Al-Quran subjects continued its implementation for Year 10 students this year and will be extended to Year 11 in 2023. Awang Norfaizan bin Haji Ahim, Head of Religious Teacher at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College shared, the programme consists of three division namely recitation and tajwid, memorisation and advance.
Meanwhile, Awang Haji Kairol Amri bin Haji Talipuddin, Head of Department of Islamic Religious Studies, Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School hoped that the programme could be extended to Years 7 and 8 students.
