53 participants comprising 40 qaris and 13 qariahs will present their readings in the Semi Final of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults 1443 Hijrah/ 2022. The 3 day competition will begin today, the 22nd of November 2021 at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The competition is an annual project of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Following the measures in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the country, it will be held in a closed session at the hall, with the participants presenting their readings on a scheduled basis in compliance with the stipulated Standard Operating Procedures. The announcement of results and presentation of Prizes will be held on Thursday, the 25th of November 2021.
In providing the public with the opportunity to follow the competition, the 3-day event will be broadcast live via the official Instagram account of the Ministry of Religious Affairs @kheu.brunei; and Nur Islam FM’s Facebook page. It aims to provide exposure and encouragement to the qaris and qariahs in improving their quality of Al-Quran reading apart from learning the correct and proper reading techniques.
