All Parties Have a Role in Safeguarding Peace and Harmony

The First Meeting of the 19th Session of the Legislative Council came to a close yesterday with more adjournment speeches from Yang Berhormat Members of the Council. The call for more cooperation among all parties, especially grassroots leaders and the public to stem crimes in the country was among the first matters highlighted in the adjournment speeches by Yang Berhormat Ex-officio Members. In his adjournment speech, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence stressed that everyone has a role in safeguarding peace and harmony.

The Minister said all parties especially grassroots leaders and the public should cooperate to stem crimes in the country. Yang Berhormat also expressed the highest appreciation to the public and specific parties for providing information to the authorities in the fight against crimes and apprehending criminals. A number of cases in the country have been solved as we act as one responsible community to uphold the rule of law.
