Some 30 antique cars took part in the Antique Cars Convoy organised by the nostalgic motor vehicles association in conjunction with the 33rd National Day celebration. A meaningful assimilation of the country's celebration of independence was the objective of the convoy's organisers. The flag off was held this afternoon at Jerudong Park.
According to the association's president, the antique cars joining the gathering have their own unique characteristics. The event gathered all old, classic and vintage car owners aside from fostering relations amongst them and clubs in the country to unite under one association or organisation.
One of the oldest and unique cars taking part in the Antique cars Convoy was a 1971 model Volkswagen. The event aimed to instil patriotism and love for the country amongst participants.
Meanwhile, more than 100 antique cars including those from the Brunei Classic Volkswagen Group, Brunei Benzers Club, Vespa Owners Club and Mini Classic Owners Association took part in the trip from Brunei Muara District to Tutong District. At the Pantai Seri Kenangan, the association's president presented certificates of appreciation to the participation representatives. The Association was established in 2013 with 34 members. The event aimed to enable participants to exchange ideas on the hobby of antique car ownership.
