Belait: The Penghulu Mukim and Village Heads in the Belait District have been entrusted with letters of appointment, emphasizing their critical roles in the dissemination of information and the coordination of government services across the district. The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs during the Presentation of Appointment Certificates held at the Belait District Office.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan highlighted in his speech the importance of these roles, especially given Belait's status as the largest area and central to the nation's oil and gas industry. He stressed the necessity of effective service delivery in both urban and rural areas. In this ceremony, two Penghulu Mukim and nine Village Heads were appointed to serve the areas of Mukim Sukang, Mukim Seria, Mukim Kuala Belait, and Mukim Liang. The event also saw the attendance of Members of the Legislative Council and Awang Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, the Acting Belait District Officer.
