ASEANAPOL to Be Unified As One Law Enforcement Body

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in a titah said that it is imperative for ASEANAPOL to be unified as one law enforcement body. His Majesty in his titah said that coherence should be embedded within the values of each member country to ensure ASEANAPOL act as one, with one voice, for the safety and security of the Southeast Asian region. His Majesty, who is also the Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force made the titah at the Official Opening Ceremony of the 38th ASEANAPOL Conference this morning at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. His majesty in his titah said that ASEANAPOL which plays a vital role for all ASEAN national police forces, need to strengthen close collaboration in order to overcome the various challenges within the Southeast Asia region. Transnational crimes such as illicit drugs trafficking, terrorism, arms smuggling, trafficking of persons, wildlife crime, maritime fraud, commercial crime, cyber-crime, fraudulent travel documents and transnational fraud are ongoing concerns.
