The Holy City of Madinah Al-Munawwarah is now flooded by intending Haj pilgrims who come for the ziarah before proceeding to Makkah al-Mukarramah. Because of the increasing number of visiting pilgrims, Madinah continues to experience rapid development.
This is how the Holy City of Madinah looks during the day. For people who have performed the Haj, the scene would bring back memories of the ziarah in Madinah. Like Makkah, the City of the Prophet is also a sacred land.
People who arrive in Madinah will grab the opportunity to perform prayers and other acts of worship at the Masjid Nabawi, the Prophet's mosque because it is the heart of the Holy City. A vital area in the mosque is the Raudah or Garden of Heaven. Outside the times of mass obligatory prayers, visitors have to wait at a designated place and take turns to pray or perform other religious acts in the Raudah.
Madinah will be busy again after the mass prayers. While many pilgrims would go home to their accommodations or visit other historic places in the Holy City after the prayer, others would to the shops in the city, mostly in search of items with religious or historic significance and other souvenirs to take home.
