Awarding Of Long Service and Good Conduct Medals to Armed Forces Personnel

The awarding of Pingat Kerja Lama or Long Service Medal and Perangai Baik or Good Conduct Medal (Tentera) is a form of recognition to a soldier whose service full of loyalty, discipline and good behaviour. The award will also motivate the Armed Forces personnel to continue their good services and loyalty to the Monarch in guarding the peace and security of the people, religion and country. The matter was highlighted by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces during a ceremony to award the Pingat Kerja Lama and Perangai Baik (Tentera), this morning.

Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, said it was hoped the awards would strengthen the determination of other RBAF personnel to service with discipline and dedication. The recipients should view the awards as a trust from His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

With His Majesty's consent, 354 RBAF personnel comprising 18 Officers and 336 others from the rank and file have been selected to receive the awards. The awarding of the medals is a recognition to their 18 years of loyalty, trustworthiness, discipline and good conduct, as well as having a clean record in their service.
