Bandar seri begawan: The Back to School Charity Assistance Programme, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the District Offices, aims to support orphans and underprivileged students in preparing for the 2026 school session. The simultaneous events across four districts were designed to inspire the recipients and ease their academic preparations. At the Brunei Muara District, the donation ceremony was held at the Brunei Muara District Office.
According to Radio Television Brunei, 100 students in the Brunei Muara District received donations of school necessities from Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, the Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The donations were sourced from the Brunei Muara District Office Charity Fund and Brunei Muara District Orphans Fund.
In the Belait District, the programme was held at the Belait District Office, where 85 students benefited from the donations. Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, Permanent Secretary for Safety and Welfare at the Ministry of Home Affairs, presented the donations to 20 students directly, while the rest will receive theirs through the Penghulu and village head.
In the Tutong District, a ceremony at Mahad Islam Brunei saw Dayang Siti Norashikin binti Mohd Salleh, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy, Corporate and Planning at the Ministry of Home Affairs, distribute donations to 130 students.
The Temburong District event was held at the Official Residence of the Temburong District Officer, where 54 orphans received their donations from Awang Haji Ahmad Nizam bin Dato Paduka Haji Ismail, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Legal, International and Research at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
