The Basic Community Leadership Workshop for members of Mukim and Village Consultative Councils has given a lot of exposure to the participants on the importance and skills in leading. This is not only applicable for themselves and family, but also for communities at the village, mukim and district levels.
Various contents were included throughout the workshop, including ways to collect data and produce reports. Participants also attended a formal session where they were involved in conducting group projects, identifying issues faced by several selected villages with the guidance of officers from the Institute of Leadership, Innovation and Advancement, ILIA of Universiti Brunei Darussalam and District Offices as well as coming up with improvement proposals. The proposals from the projects were presented yesterday morning.
The Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to conduct such workshop from time to time to provide exposure and experience to the participants. The workshop is hoped to assist in producing grassroots leaders who possess authority, and can bring about changes to the development of mukim and villages.
