Siandang beach: The 2nd 'Makan Tahun Pantai Siandang' Festival drew an impressive turnout from both local residents and international guests. The event, themed 'Sekudi Kelupis Menjalin Budaya', was designed to showcase and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Brunei, with a special focus on the Kedayan community, aiming to connect with the younger generation.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the festival was graced by the presence of Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Metassan, the Permanent Secretary for Municipality and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs. It featured a wide array of activities that highlighted traditional practices and skills, such as 'mengelupis' demonstrations and traditional cooking. Attendees also enjoyed heritage food exhibitions, performances of pencak silat, and an exhibition highlighting traditional Kedayan community equipment. Additionally, local village residents and entrepreneurs had the opportunity to sell their products, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
