The Kedayan Malay Association, Pemadayan, yesterday organised a Berdudun or visiting and gathering activity at the residence of Awang Haji Nayan bin Apong, an activist of the Kedayan Malay Culture in Kampung Kulapis. Such visit is among the association's token of appreciation to Awang Haji Nayan for his efforts towards preserving the Kedayan Malay culture.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim, member of the Legislative Council who is also the advisor of Pemadayan in an interview with RTB said, among the objective of the activity is to allow the exchange of knowledge and information between both sides.
The Pemadayan Association was formed in 2014 and now has more than 200 members of Kedayan community. Since its establishment, the association has organised various activities including One Borneo Kedayan Malay Cultural Get-together in 2016.
