The Borneo Bird Song and Style Competition, in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival 2017, took place yesterday morning at the Open area in front of the Royal Regalia Building. More than 400 participants from throughout the country as well as from the neighbouring state including Sipitang, Lawas and Limbang, Malaysia took part in the competition.
The competition was officiated by Awang Wardi bin Haji Muhammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. Four categories were competed namely the Murai Batu Kepala Hitam, Murai Batu Kepala Putih, Murai Kampong or Kalijiau and Mata Putih. The competition aimed to foster relations among bird enthusiasts as well as expose youths to the activity. The competition was organised by the Transformation Youth Community Club.
