The country's orphans continue to gain attention from the community who extend assistance to bring cheer to them especially in the month of Ramadhan. The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs held breaking of the fast with orphans at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampung Manggis/Madang.
In attendance was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. 50 orphans received their donations at the event. The donations was also handed over by Mr Hussaian Mohammed M. Al Dajani, Charge d'Affaires at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia to the country. The event also saw the donations of 40 Al-Quran for the mosque's use.
Also present were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, Member of the Legislative Council as Penghulu of Mukim Berakas 'B'; Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance, Ministry of Religious Affairs; Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religious, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Senior Officers at the ministry, Nurul Islam Association, Tutong District New Converts Association as well as Takmir Committee members of the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampung Madang.
