Brunei Darussalam and Australia Strengthen Ties with Comprehensive Partnership

Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, emphasized the importance of the Brunei Darussalam-Australia Comprehensive Partnership in maintaining and enhancing the friendship and ties between the two nations. The Sultan highlighted energy and food security as crucial areas for bolstering economic growth.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty discussed the close ties between Brunei Darussalam and Australia in various sectors, including trade, defence, education, and people-to-people exchanges. These remarks were made during a Bilateral Meeting with The Honourable Anthony Albanese MP, Prime Minister of Australia, who was in Brunei Darussalam for a two-day Working Visit from April 14th to 15th, 2026. The Audience Ceremony was held at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.

The event was attended by members of the Royal Family, as well as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, acting as Minister-in-attendance, along with the official delegation from Australia.
