Brunei Darussalam Anticipates Unstable Weather with Northeast Monsoon

Brunei darussalam: Brunei Darussalam has entered the Northeast Monsoon, which is expected to persist until around the end of March 2026. During this period, the country usually experiences unstable weather conditions, with occasional heavy showers or thundershowers, particularly during the night until early morning.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the risk of severe flooding may occur when heavy rain coincides with high tide, and landslides and fallen trees may happen during prolonged heavy rain lasting more than an hour. Strong Northeast cold wind surges may also result in the increase of wave height over Brunei waters to a rough state that may reach up to 3.5 meters, and wind speed may increase up to 60 kilometers per hour. If this occurs, the conditions are dangerous to all small crafts, as well as sea recreational activities and sports.
