Brunei Darussalam Expected To Enter Intermonsoon Season

Brunei Darussalam is still in the Southwest Monsoon season and is expected to enter the Intermonsoon Season by late September or early October 2021. As of 11 in the morning today, two tropical storms were observed, namely Tropical Storm Conson at the Philippines, at approximately 1336 kilometres away from this country and Tropical Storm Chanthu at the Western Pacific Ocean, at approximately 2689 kilometres away from this country. However, Tropical Storm Conson and Tropical Storm Chanthu are expected to move Northwestwards away from Brunei Darussalam.

Our country’s weather will not be affected directly by both of the tropical storms apart from an increase in the Southwesterly wind speed especially at the sea and coastal areas on the 8th and 9th September 2021 due to the indirect influence of Tropical Storm Conson. Showers, thundery at times with gusty winds are expected especially over the sea areas in the next upcoming 2 days and will become generally fair and occasionally windy. Wave height is slight under 1 metre. However, wave height is expected to increase up to 1.8 metre on the 9th and 10th September 2021 due to increase in Southwesterly wind speed. In this regard, public is advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued.
